Isolation Flap Valves

IEP IsoFlap Isolation Flap Valve

IEP Technologies introduces the IsoFlap™M Isolation Flap Valve which is designed specifically to prevent explosion propagation in applications with combustible dust. The IsoFlap passive isolation valve does not require any triggers from sensors. It is designed to work purely on process air being delivered to the unit to discharge materials while the blade of the flap is held open. In the event of an explosion, the pressure front arriving from the process ducting will cause the blade of the IsoFlap™M to close, and then lock. Once locked, the IsoFlap™M provides protection from flames and pressure reaching the connected upstream equipment. Moreover, the IsoFlap-M provides integrated dust accumulations, and blade monitoring as required to meet industry standards such as OSHA, NFPA 654, NFPA 69.

Non-Return Valve NRV Combo Safety Flap Valve

Aircom Safety Not Return Valves Nrv Metal 200 550 Atex Certified En 16447 Valve

The Non-Return Valve NRV Combo Safety Valve, an essential protection in case of explosions in industrial environments, is an ATEX certified passive device in accordance with the standard EN 16447. This passive defence system is to prevent possible explosions going back through the suction pipe (while it may not prevent an explosion completely from happening, it does stop further damage to the other sections of process line).

Specifications

  • Available in standard carbon steel with a RAL 3020 paint finish or in corrosion-resistant stainless steel AISI 304 or AISI 316 variants.
  • The valves are fully welded at all union points, and their structure is fortified to endure substantial pressures.
  • They come with flanges and counterflanges that are compatible with standard DIN 24154-RI, facilitating easy integration into existing systems.
  • An efficient gasket provides a secure seal when the valve is in the closed position, ensuring containment and maintaining system integrity.
  • Capable of functioning in temperature ranges from -20°C to +60°C, with a process flux type of pull flow and non-metallic dust handling.
  • Fully compliant with ATEX class, these valves can safely operate in environments with a st = 325 bar*m/s and a maximum airspeed of 30 m/s.
  • Designed to work in horizontal pipe configurations, with minimum and maximum installation distances provided to accommodate various setups.

Common Applications

  • To prevent the reverse flow of flames and explosions in facilities of industrial dust collection systems such as woodwork shops, metal processing plants, and chemical processing factories.
  • Protects against explosion risks where materials are transported through pneumatic conveying systems such as ducts and pipes, including plastics manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and food processing industries.
  • Integral to systems where explosion isolation is needed to preserve the integrity of environmental controls and suction and filtration units such as air filtration setups and central vacuum systems.
  • Serves as a preventative measure in any industrial safety critical processes where combustible dust or fumes might pose a significant threat in the operational environment.

CMC/Aircom SNR Safety Non Return Valves

The Safety Non Return (SNR) Valves from CMC/Aircom are explosion isolation valves designed to contain explosions in industrial suction lines and prevent further propagation downline. Available in sizes from 100mm to 900mm, these stainless steel/engineered plastic valves meet ATEX certification standards for reliability in stopping and isolating explosions.

Utilizing a lightweight yet high-strength flap mechanism, the SNR valves quickly react to the initial stages of an explosion event through sensitive detection of pressure changes. By slamming shut against extreme pressures surging up to 1 bar, they effectively block detonation waves from traveling farther down the connected piping. This minimizes secondary explosions and shock impact on equipment installed on the suction line.

Snr

Specifications

  • The Safety Not Return Valves series comes in a diverse variety of sizes, ranging from 100mm to 900mm.
