IEP Brilex TYPE KE High-Performance Rectangular Explosion Protection Vent

Overview

The IEP Brilex TYPE KE is Proven in the field across numerous explosion events, its fast dynamic response and pressure-spike resistance makes it superior to traditional flat triple-section vent designs and other single-section designs with laser-cutting in the open area instead of under the flanges.

• Burst Pressure (Pstat): Standard 0.1 bar @ 20°C (other pressures available)
• Burst Tolerance: ±10%
• Vacuum Resistance: Up to 50% of rated burst pressure (Depending on the configuration)
• Maximum Operating Pressure: Up to 50% of rated burst pressure
• Optional Insulation: 40, 60, 80 or 100mm Mineral Wool inside an aluminium cover or Armaflex
• Optional Features: Elongated bolt holes and curved configurations
• Sizes: Rectangular from 229 × 229 mm to 1000 × 2000 mm
• Venting Efficiency: Up to 100% depending on Kst value and Pred value

Choosing your application based on the dimensions of your Silo, Bins, Hoppers, Dust Collectors, Filters, Cyclones and Buildings — along with your product type, Kst, Pmax and Pred — will help us calculate the required effective vent area in accordance with EN14491:2012.

Design Variations

• Type KE‑W Explosion Vent: Rolled/curved version of the KE, maintaining all performance features. Available with insulation and elongated holes. Vacuum resistance: −200 mm WC while retaining curved structure.
• Type KE‑Z Explosion Vent: Designed for difficult applications with deeper slits in the flange area. Ideal for cyclones, harmonic flow conditions, and similar challenging installations.
