SmartMeasurement TM Turbine Flow Meters
Turbine meters consist of a number of components, including a flow body, rotating turbine elements, rotor supports / axles, bearings, and a pickup module for counting turbine rotations. An important component that provides flow measurement is the rotating turbine element. It consists of a multi-blade rotor mounted at right angles to the flow in the tube with freely rotating bearings. The rotor is slightly smaller than the measuring tube, and the rotational speed is directly proportional to the volumetric flow rate of the fluid. Blade rotation can be detected by solid state devices (reluctance, inductance, capacitance and Hall-Effect pickups) or mechanical sensors (gear or magnetic drive).
